One of two fugitives being sought by the U.S. Marshal’s Service and Indiana State Police (ISP) was caught on Tuesday, February 8, near Austin on State Road 256.
Roger D. Hall Jr., 25, Sellersburg, was taken into custody at the undisclosed location by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Service and Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force and officers of the ISP Sellersburg post.

The United Way of Scott County, Inc. will host their 2011 Annual Dinner on Thursday, March 3rd, 2011 at the Coffee House, on the Square in Scottsburg, beginning at 6pm.  April Ramoni, Executive Director of the United Way of Scott County, invites the public to attend the dinner to learn more about the UWSC and to meet staff, members of the Board of Trustees and heads of organizations funded by the United Way.

Lady Eagles fall against Lady Braves in Sectional Championship game PDF Print E-mail

The Austin Lady Eagles met up with the Brownstown Lady Braves in the championship game of the Class 2A Sectionals on February 12th. This tough and exciting rivalry drew a large crowd for both squads but it was the Eagle faithful who walked away disappointed after a 53-49 defeat.

Warriorettes hope for sectional victory falls in final seconds of final game PDF Print E-mail

Charles E. Meyer Gym was packed with fans for the sectional final between the Scottsburg Warriorettes and the Madison Lady Cubs.  The teams had a played a game earlier in the season that came down to the final possession with the Warriorettes coming out on top by two points.  This game had the same drama and even more intensity as the gym was split in half with colors from each school on opposite sides loudly cheering on their respective teams.

Six people hurt in county vehicular mishaps during two-week period PDF Print E-mail

A half-dozen people involved in the seven accidents investigated by the Scott County Sheriff’s Department in February were listed as having suffered some injury.
On February 7, driver Jennifer Stace, no age or address available, was hurt on U.S. Highway 31. The accident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. when her vehicle hit an icy patch on Marshfield bridge. It crossed over into the southbound lane and struck one of the bridge’s guardrails.
