Local carpenter Dylan Fires is preparing to lay down his tool belt and spend the next five months in Haiti working for the international relief organization Samaritan’s Purse, commonly known for their Operation Christmas Child shoe box project. 
Lady Braves season ends with tough loss at Regional PDF Print E-mail
The Borden Lady Braves basketball season ended at the West Washington Regional Saturday morning, February 22nd. Borden was unable find a way to defeat the #4 ranked 1A team in the state from Vincennes Rivet losing the game 52-41. Vincennes Rivet went on to defeat Wood Memorial, 56-38, later that evening to claim the Regional Championship and advance to next week’s Semi State game.

Eastern proved early in Saturday’s first regional semi-final that they were there to stay. They bolted out to a fast start, but in the end a lack-luster second quarter did them in.

The Borden Braves went on the road to play the Spring Valley Hawks Saturday afternoon.  Taking over a half to get control of the game they came away with a victory 65 to 56.

Lady Braves win sectional PDF Print E-mail
The Borden Lady Braves claimed their third sectional championship in the last four years with two victories Saturday, February 15th at New Washington. After weather postponed Friday night’s game, Borden was victorious over the Lanesville Lady Eagles in the semi-final game rescheduled for Saturday morning. The Lady Braves defeated Lanesville 51-20 to earn a spot in the Championship game Saturday night against the New Washington Lady Mustangs.
