The votes have been counted and most of the general election field has been set in Harrison County.

The most hotley contested race in the county was for sheriff.

Gary Gilley was the runaway winner to represent the Democrats in Novemeber. Gilley collected 60.42 percent of the vote. The closest competitior was Marty D. McClanahan with 16.29 percent of the the vote. Gilley will square-off against Republican winner Rodney Seelye. Seelye won handily over Thomas Bube. Seelye had 65.85 percent of the vote and Bube had 20.51 percent.

On May 7 at approximately 3 p.m. Detective Bill Wibbels from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg arrested Arnulfo Nolasco-Ortega, a.k.a. “Pato”, 25, of New Salisbury, IN after interviewing him in reference to a child molesting complaint.

The identity of two people who died in a plane crash Sunday night have been released.

Elizabeth and David Schump of Winsor, Colo. Were en route from Costal Georgia to Bowman Field in Louisville when their plane crashed near State Road 111.

Residents of the North Harrison School District, which includes Blue River, Morgan, Spence, and Jackson Townships in Harrison County, have been getting tax bills that in some cases have been double. A mistake in the Bus Replacement Fund has been responsible for the error, and the board explained the situation and took comments in a special board meeting Thursday in the North Harrison High School Auditeria.

FC takes fourth at Evansville; JV is first PDF Print E-mail

The Floyd Central High School boys' varsity golf team traveled to Evansville last Saturday for the Evansville Memorial Varsity Invitational, which was held at The Players Club (par 72).

Play was shorten to 9 holes due to a rain.
