Myra Powell is among sixty-two outstanding elementary and middle school principals from schools across the nation and abroad who have been named as 2010 National Distinguished Principals (NDP) by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). Powell is principal of William W. Borden Elementary School in Borden, Ind. The NDPs will be honored Oct. 15 at an awards banquet at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., as part of a two-day program, which for more than 20 years has been generously funded by VALIC.

Palmyra man faces multiple child molesting charges PDF Print E-mail

On Sunday, October 17, 2010 Detectives with the Indiana State Police arrested Jerome McDonald, 57 of 4000 John Arthur Road NE, Palmyra, Indiana on (2) Counts of Child Molesting, a Class B Felony.
The arrest was a result of crimes that occurred involving a family member who was violated at a time which the family member was eight to nine years of age. At the time of the alleged criminal acts, Jerome McDonald lived at 4490 Wilson Drive near Palmyra, Indiana, located in Harrison County.

Fish fry to benefit Borden Memorial Garden PDF Print E-mail

The Borden Park Board is sponsoring a Fish Fry at the Borden Community Park on Friday, October 15, from 5-8 p.m.
The purpose for the event is to raise funds for, and awareness of, the new “Borden Memorial Garden”
Organizers are very excited with the plans for the Memorial Garden which will be located in a shady area along the beautiful walking path.
