The Indiana Department of Education will recognize Floyd Central High School at a ceremony on June 21st in Indianapolis.  Floyd Central will be recognized for the large number of students (40.7%)  who score a 3 or above on AP exams (advancement placement courses).

Floyd County Deputy Frank Denzinger was fatally shot when responding to a domestic complaint.  Those who lived in the area then will not soon forget the tragic event, or the feelings and emotions that followed.  ‘It was such a heartbreaking tragedy, ‘says sister Sara Denzinger Rowe,  ‘to lose such a great man who devoted his life to helping others to such senseless violence, it touched us all in very profound way and showed us how a community could come together’.
