Rivalries and basketball fever will come together for a good cause at the Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council’s first-ever Thanksgiving Throwback Throwdown fundraiser! The Austin versus Scottsburg game will feature alumni from the schools battling for a coveted traveling trophy and bragging rights.

The big event will be held Sunday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. at Meyer Gym in Scottsburg. Tickets are $3 for students and seniors, and $5 for adults. Concessions will be available. There will be a half-time contest and prize as well. Fans are welcome to stay after the game for an autograph session with their favorite players.

Many players, ranging from from the Class of 1973 through the most recent graduating class of 2015 have committed to play this fun event. The YGC is still recruiting players. They are seeking all ages, male and female, who graduated from the local high schools and played basketball.

Sponsors are still needed for the traveling trophy and half-time contest. Current sponsors include t-shirt sponsor ISU Insurance & Investment Group, and the Scott County Community Foundation.

All proceeds will benefit the youth of Scott County. The YGC is a program of the Scott County Community Foundation, where youth learn about community service, leadership, teamwork, fundraising and grantmaking.
