Floyd County Adult Literacy Connections (ALC) is seeking volunteers to be trained as literacy tutors. Tutors must be 21 or older, have completed high school or the equivalent, be willing to attend 12 hours of free training, be available for 2 hours per week, and be able to commit to service as a literacy tutor for one year. New Albany-Floyd County Public Library literacy tutors do not have to be residents of Floyd County.

The Salem Lions come into their home opener after a close lost to Silver Creek with, making the Lions   1- 1. The Lions hosted the North Harrison Cougars, who were undefeated after a big win against Corydon. In a game that came down to the final minute, the Cougars won, 33-30.
