It took four games, but the North Harrison Lady Cats outlasted the host Lanesville Lady Eagles in four games Thursday night. North Harrison went on to win the match 25-15, 25-8, 20-25, 25-16.

The band “Good Evening, Miss” from Charlestown, Indiana, recently won third place in the 2011 Kentucky State Fair Battle of the Bands. The competition finals, which included fifteen bands from across Kentucky and Southern Indiana, was judged by Jeffrey Lee Puckett, Courier Journal Music Critic; Gregory Riggle, Vice President Industry Relations & Business Communications for SESAC in Nashville; kRi Martin and Hettie Mays of Louisville music duo kRi & Hettie; and solo artist Peter Searcy.

Charles and Penny Breedlove plead guilty to neglect of a vertebrate animal, an A misdemeanor.
They were credited with time served, four days and will be on probation for 361 days.
