At around 5:30 a.m. Friday, July 19, Lafayette Township Fire Protection District (LTFPD) along with Georgetown Twp Fire Protection District and Greenville Township Vol. Fire Department responded to a report a fire at the JayC Food Store at 815 highlander Point Dr.
National champion dance team arrives home with hardware in hand
Eight local girls are returning home national champions. Yesterday, the DanceWorks Company dancers were named the National Dance Champions of Rainbow National Talent Competition in Wisconsin Dells, WI. The girls will be arriving home in New Albany at 6 p.m. tonight, and a crowd is expected to welcome them to the SIGS Sportsplex located at 4343 Security Parkway in New Albany.

Becky O’Connor proudly displays her catch of a 33 ½” Muskie that she caught while on vacation in northern Wisconsin with her husband Terry. The Muskie is often considered by sport fishermen to be the pinnacle of North American game fish, it is the largest predatory fish in fresh water in this continent and the largest catch on record was 72 inches in length weighing in at 70 pounds.
