Friday night basketball is hard to beat but at Borden high school it is even better. Borden was able to pack their defense inside the three point line and pushed back any half court offensive Lanesville tried to develop. In the start of the contest the Eagles appeared that they were going to run away with the game in a hurry but an adjustment on defense by the Braves ultimately sealed the victory for them as they went on to win 55-42.

On the afternoon of Thursday, December 1, in Harrison Superior Court, after almost two hours of deliberation, a jury found Travis Fentress guilty in the January 2016 murder of Ralph Thomas and Thomas’ wife Rebecca Rowley Thomas, as well as being an habitual felon.

The New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation Board approved a preliminary lease agreement during their November 14 meeting. The lease is the first step in the process to complete the projects that are a part of the referendum that was passed on Election Day.

The first basketball game of the season couldn’t come fast enough for fans, students, and players and the Highlanders really showed us in their season opener that they are ready to play this year. Despite having a young team, which consists of only 2 seniors, Floyd Central’s upperclassmen showed up huge for FC with their win at home against Christian Academy 65-28.
