|Sellersburg Celebrates! committee announces upcoming events for festival|

The Sellersburg Celebrates! committee has announced some of the events being planned for the upcoming festival. Sellersburg Celebrates! will be held at Silver Creek Township Park Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 27, 28 and 29. This year's theme is “Building Bridges.”
The Sellersburg Celebrates! community luncheon will be held on Friday, August 28 at Nolan Fieldhouse located at 5010 Progress Way in Sellersburg.
The social will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the luncheon being held from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
This year’s guest speaker will be Indiana University Men’s Basketball Coach Tom Crean. He will be introduced by former Sellersburg resident and Indiana University basketball player Steve Green.
The luncheon will be catered by KFC.
Tickets are $20 each and you may purchase a table of 10. Tickets are available at Ray’s Lawn and Garden (246-6309), Jackson Physical Therapy & Associates, Inc. (246-8975) or at The New Washington State Bank (Sellersburg Branch- 246-0600). Tickets are also available by contacting Sara Hauselman at 502-905-1777. Tickets are available now.
The crowd will be entertained this year on Friday night, August 28 by The Rumors and on Saturday night, August 29 by The Monarchs.
There will be all new special prices for the carnival rides throughout this year’s festival. Wristbands, which will offer all day rides, will be available for a set fee. The fee for a wristband for Thursday evening will be $10. The fee for Friday evening will be $15 while the fee for all day Saturday will be $20.
The Kiwanis will again be sponsoring a pancake breakfast during the Sellersburg Celebrates! activities. The pancake breakfast will be held on Saturday, August 29 from 7 to 10 a.m. The pancake breakfast will be held at the park located next to the Sellersburg Police Department.
There will be a balloon glow and tether on Friday night, August 28 beginning at 9 p.m.
The annual Sellersburg Celebrates! parade will be held on Saturday, August 29 at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at Haas Cabinet Company and end at Silver Creek Township Park. The Grand Marshal of the parade will be Judy Phineman, Mrs. Indiana.
