The Englishton Park Presbyterian Ministries and Three Spring’s Inc. Saturday, May 16 event on the Englishton Park Campus continues to grow in the planning for that day.
Many local merchants have donated items to be included in a Silent Auction that will be held throughout that day, including Gift Certificates from Anthony’s, Gilley’s Automatic Car Wash, Goin’ Postal, Jeeves and Company, Lickety Split Ice Cream, and Rough Edges “what-not shop”.
In addition to these Gift Certificates, there have been four merchants that have donated products for the auction, including CVS; a fabric cooler and a bag of charcoal, Hancock’s Drugstore; a scented candle, Scott’s Hardware; a Hummingbird Feeder with nectar and Scottsburg Stoneware; a heart shaped decorative bowl.
These Certificates and Gifts are much appreciated, as the funds generated from their sale in the auction will be used to help offset costs of the Open House, with any excess funds going toward expenses of the Englishton Park Summer Youth Program, entering it’s 41st year. The Summer Camp staff reports in on June 1st and the first of four groups of children (30 –36 youth per group) arrive on June 14.
Previous articles have mentioned “Free Hotdogs, Chips and Iced Tea or Lemonade to the first 100 people.” The way that will work will be the first 100 will be given a lunch ticket as they enter the parking area that will be presented when they pick up their light lunch.
Regarding the parking and transportation, the main parking will be at the top of the hill on the South Drive; that is Parker Lane, off Highway 203 just North of Lexington. Handicapped people will be allowed to park in parking areas close to the activities until the crowds grow into a situation where it may not be safe for vehicular traffic. Golf carts will be used for personal handicap transportation when the other handicapped parking areas are closed or inaccessible.
