Anyone traveling Interstate 65 north of Scott County has run into the latest lane and ramp closures that were announced by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) late last week.

Failing pavement is being replaced by contractor John R. Jurgensen starting at the 40 mile marker south of Seymour. Motorists were advised to proceed cautiously in that area through 12 noon on Thursday, July 2, and expect backed-up traffic.

An alternate route is U.S. Highway 31.

Crews can be expected at the following sites:

• Northbound I-65 right lane between mile markers 45 and 50.

• Southbound I-65 right lane between mile markers 45 and 40.5.

Additionally, concrete patches are being applied to the U.S. Highway 50 ramp to northbound I-65 and to the northbound I-65 ramp to westbound U.S. 50 at the Seymour interchange. Both ramps were to reopen after the patches “cure,” according to INDOT. All operations by Jurgensen are being pulled back tomorrow (Thursday) for the July 4 holiday weekend.
