The Sellersburg Celebrates! Committee is pleased to announce the featured guest speaker for the annual luncheon will be Silver Creek graduate Steve Green.  After graduating from Silver Creek in 1971, Green continued his education at Indiana University. He is a proud member of the Indiana University Class of 1975.

After playing on the 1971 Indiana All-Star team, Green was Bob Knight's first Indiana University recruit in 1971. Green played three years at Silver Creek for his father, Ray. As a Dragon, Green scored 1,404 points while Silver Creek went 58-14. As a Hoosier, Green tallied 1,265  points while the Hoosiers went 76-12 during Green's career.

Green and John Laskowski were the Chicago Bulls' top two picks in the  1975 draft, but Green opted to sign with Utah in the ABA. He played five professional years, four with the Indiana Pacers, before returning to school to get a degree in Dentistry. Green graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1984. Green also played one year in Italy.

Green was an Academic All-American and winner of an NCAA post-graduate scholarship. He was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 1999.

Green is a member of: American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine; American Academy of Sleep Medicine; American Academy of Orofacial Pain; American Headache Society; American Dental Association; Indiana Dental Association; Indianapolis District Dental Society; Indiana Donated Dental Services—Past President and current board member.

Green has completed Advanced Dental Sleep Courses in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. He has also attended the  Glassman Forum Conference in Head/Neck Pain in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Among many of Green's accolades are: two-time basketball All-American at Indiana University; two-time Academic All-American at Indiana University; Elvis J Stahr Distinguished Senior Award at Indiana University; NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship Recipient and NCAA Silver Anniversary Team 2000; Indiana High School Basketball Hall of Fame—Board Member and Inductee; Indiana University Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee; Steve Green’s ARC Golf Tournament host 1988-present.

Green has been married to his wife, Lana for 39 years. They have three children: Jessica, Casey and Michael and one grandchild, Kimberly born 2013.

The Sellersburg Celebrates! Luncheon will be held on Friday, August 22 at Rock Creek Community Academy's Gymnasium located at 11515 Highway 31 in Sellersburg. The event will begin at 11 a.m. with a Meet and Greet. The luncheon, catered by KFC, will follow at 11:30 a.m.
