Grandstands events, free musical entertainment, rides and more planned at upcoming Scott County Fair July 13-19 PDF Print E-mail
The 2014 Scott County Fair is just right around the corner and the Scott County Fair Board is looking forward to this year’s fair.
The Scott County Fair Queen Contest will be held at the Scottsburg High School McClain Hall on Sunday, July 13. The Little Miss and Master Contest begins at 6 p.m. Followed by the queen contest at 7 p.m.
The Tractor Pull will kick-off this year’s fair on Sunday evening, July 13, at 7 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and 12 and under are 5 p.m.
On Tuesday night, July 15, things will get messy at the grandstands as the Mud Bog takes place at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults and 12 and under is $5.
On Thursday night, July 17, the UMP Series Stock Car Points Race featuring modifieds, superstocks, purestocks and hornets. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
The Demolition Derby is showcased Friday evening, July 18, at 7:30 p.m., which is always a crowd favorite at the fair. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
The 4-H Livestock Auction will take place in the Livestock Show Arena, starting at 5:30 p.m. On Friday, July 18, with the awards ceremony, followed by the auction. This event is free of charge to attend.
The final night of the fair, Saturday, July 19, at 7:30 p.m. will feature The Truck Pulls with Kottpa from Kentucky. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Free entertainment will be featured at the New Shelter House Sunday through Saturday. There will be line dancing, music, (bluegrass, gospel, country) Come by, sit down and enjoy! Sound provided by Spare Change Music – Bobby Deal. A separate article will be available with a list of the performers each evening.
Fikes Fiesta Rides will begin on Monday, July 14 on the midway at 5 p.m. Daily at the carnival office for discount bracelets. Senior Citizens and Kids Day at the Fair will be Wednesday, July 16, from 1 to 4 p.m.
* Those with a military I.D., will be admitted to the grandstands for half price.
There will be a $2 per car load charge and  a $1 charge per walk-in. A $5 pass will be available at the Fair Office the week before the fair.
