The Washington County Economic Growth Partnership recently hired a new Executive Director and they didn’t have to look far to find her.

Sabrina Burdine has spent the past seven years as the office manager for the WCEGP and according to board president Steve Hunt, she is the right person for the job.

“Our executive search committee went thru a comprehensive plan to attract viable candidates for the position that included screening, scoring, due diligence and interviews during the selection process,” he said. “From day one the committee was very much cognizant of responses given as to what our local and regional stakeholders valued as desirable attributes in an executive director for Washington County.   We received interest in the position both nationally and internationally and feel we have secured the right person in place to lead our economic development efforts forward in the long term.”

Hunt said strength that Burdine has that seperated her for the other candidates is the networking she has been able to do while working in the WCEGP office.

“So vital to economic development success are the relationships that are built,” Hunt said. “Sabrina, having worked in economic development for several years, has built and established relationships locally, regionally and state wide.  We’re confident she will also nurture and expand the relationships with existing businesses in Washington County.

“She brings energy, creativity, enthusiasm, experience and stability for our county, all of which were attributes sought in an executive director.”
