IHSAA girls’ softball
tournament begins
The girls’ softball sectional will get underway this week.
The following are games and times for local teams. 
In the Class 3A Silver Creek Sectional, play got underway on Memorial Day  with Charlestown playing Madison. The second game that day featured the Mid Southern Conference champion Lady Lions of Salem playing Brownstown Central. Results were not available at press time.
In the evening on Monday, Corydon Central took on Silver Creek and Scottsburg played North Harrison. Winners of those games were also not available at press time.
The winners of those games will play one another in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
The championship for the 3A Silver Creek sectional will be Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
In the Class 2 A Sectional at Paoli Clarksville will play Providence on May 27 at 5 p.m. The second game that night will feature Crawford County playing Paoli.
Those winners will play on May 29 at 5 p.m. and Eastern, who drew the bye will play Henryville in the second game.
The winners of the May 29 games will play one another in the championship on May 30 at 6.
In the Class A Sectional at Springs Valley Crothersville played Orleans in the first game on Memorial Day with the winner to play Trinity Lutheran on May 27th at around 7 p.m.
Host Springs Valley will play West Washington in the first game on May 27th with the winner advancing to the sectional championship on May 29th at 7 p.m.
The cost to enter the sectionals is $6 per session or a tournament pass may be purchased for $9.
