|Local stations secure ACC coverage through 2017|

Louisville Cardinal Basketball and Football will be broadcast live on local channels.
WAVE 3 News and WHAS-TV have been granted exclusive rights to broadcast Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) football and basketball games for the next three years, encompassing the 2014-2015, 2015-2016, and 2016-2017 seasons.
WAVE 3 News and WHAS-TV will combine to air a minimum of 22 regular season ACC basketball games, all 14 ACC tournament basketball games, and 13 ACC football games each season, as well as six pre-season football programs, an ACC Basketball Tip-Off Show, and three ACC “Kings of the Court” specials. WAVE 3 News will also have access to exclusive ACC digital content on WAVE3.com, featuring ACC Football, ACC Basketball, and ACC Olympic Sports content, including highlight packages of every ACC Football and ACC Basketball conference game. “The University of Louisville will be a great asset to the ACC and Cardinal fans will enjoy the excitement the new league will bring to our region on local television,” Ken Selvaggi, WAVE 3 News VP/GM said. “It will be a great partnership between these two stations, Linda Danna, WHAS-TV, President/GM said. “The community will benefit with the local and regional games.”
This year WAVE 3 News was the exclusive station for the Olympic games, Thunder Over Louisville, the Republic Bank Pegasus Parade, and the Kentucky Derby and Oaks races. WAVE 3 News produces more than 45 hours of news each week and streams live on www.wave3.com and their mobile apps. The station is owned by Raycom Media, an employee-owned company with nearly 4,000 employees. Raycom Media operates 53 television stations in 37 markets and 18 states covering 13.1% of U.S. television households. WAVE 3 News was the first television station in Kentucky and has served Kentucky and Indiana viewers for 66 years.
