Scottsburg High School athletes receive recognition during the fall sports banquet for which was conducted on Thursday, October 27.
In girls’ cross country awards, Bridget Elliott was honored as Most Valuable Runner and Most Valuable Freshmen Runner. Shelby Hale received Most Improved Runner while Loren Douglas received the team’s Mental Attitude Award.
Boys’ cross country awards went to Felix Neace for Mental Attitude; Codee LaMaster for Most Valuable Freshmen award; Logan Wells, Most Improved; and Kris Sandlin, Most Valuable Runner Award, Mis-Southern Conference, Sectional, Regional and Semi-State awards.
Soccer awards were accepted by Brandon Kiefer receiving the MVP award. MVOP went to Brandon Jerrell. Tanner Howard received the Mental Attitude Award. Patrick Bulington received Most Improved, and Forest Prichard received Most Valuable Senior Award.
In the junior varsity category, Gage Kelly received the MVOP award, and Bryce Peters received MVP.
The Low Medalist Award in girls’ golf went to Lily Robinson. Most Improved went to Patricia Bacala, and Amanda Munden received Academic All-State.
In boys’ tennis awards, No. 1 singles player and Regional qualifier awards went to Breyden Everitt. Tyler Hutton received the Scott McClellan Award. The Winning Percentage Award went to Andrew Boswell and Matt Boswell. Evan Comer received the Most Improved Award.
Varsity volleyball awards went to Stephanie Lytle in serving and setting/assists. Tia Deaton received serve receive/passing, hitting/kills, digs and the MVP award. Most Improved went to Symantha Norton and Kiana Amick, while Darion Hutchinson received blocking.
The Mental Attitude Award was accepted by Chrissy Nowlin.
Junior varsity awards were handed out to Symantha Norton for hitting/kills, blocking, serve receive/passing and MVP.
Most Improved went to Mackenzie Donovan and Tori Clemmons. Carlye Bonsett received the setting/assists award while Tori Clemmons received serving.
