Voters throughout Clark County took to the polls on Tuesday, May 6 to make their voices heard and cast a vote for their favorite candidates for the November 4 General Election. There was a low voter turnout throughout the 72 precincts in Clark County as only 13.39 percent of registered voters cast a ballot. There were 11,651 total ballots cast last Tuesday. Clark County has 87,014 registered voters. There were 8,721 Democrat ballots cast and 2,930 Republican ballots cast.

US Representative in Congress District 9

Todd Young received 2,310 votes for 81.77 percent while Kathy Lowe Heil received 391 votes for 13.84 percent and Mark G. Jones received 124 votes for 4.39 percent.

State Senate District 45

Jim Smith ran unopposed and received 1,513 votes.

State Senate District 46

Ron Grooms ran unopposed and received 917 votes.

State Representative District 66

Lisa Seng Shadday received 369 votes for 62.76 percent while Ronald (Ron) Harsin received 175 votes for 29.76 percent and Joe Van Wye Sr. received 44 votes for 7.48 percent.

Rhonda J. Rhoads ran unopposed and received 531 votes.
