In a baseball game played May 5, Eastern picked up an 8-7 win over visiting Corydon Central.

The Musketeers were aided in the win by both the pitching and hitting of Dustyn Miller, who reached base three times in the game. He scored one run and had two runs batted in. He doubled in the fourth inning.

Corydon couldn’t get anything going as long as Miller was on the bump.

The Panthers managed just one hit off of the Musketeers’ pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Eastern would not relinquish the lead as Corydon was unable to weather a three-run fourth inning deficit.

The Musketeers went up for good in the fourth, scoring seven runs on two doubles and an RBI single by Brayton Brading.

Vs. Crawford County

Brayton Brading brought home the go-ahead run to give Musketeers the lead in the seventh inning, as the Eastern varsity baseball team hung on to beat Crawford County 4-3 on Saturday.

Dustyn Miller walked to get on base in the seventh. He then went from first to second on a single by Scot Ames, which opened the door for Bradin’s two RBIs on one hit for Musketeers .

The bottom of the first saw Crawford County take an early lead, 2-0. Crawford County’s rally started when Wright singled. A stolen base then moved Wright from first to second. Mauck doubled, plating Wright. Crawford County pushed more runs across when Mauck scored on an RBI double by Fell.

Crawford County survived Musketeers ‘s surge and put up one run of its own, scoring on a groundout by C Carlton.
