An undercover buy of prescription drugs from a 63-year-old man in Austin last September has resulted in two felony charges being filed in Scott Circuit Court.
Claude Holt Sr. allegedly admitted to Deputy Jeremy Arnold in a 2013 interview that he had sold some of his prescription medicine “....but only to certain people and not very often,” the probable cause affidavit related.
Holt allegedly sold medication known among illegal drug users as “roxies.”
A confidential informant was used by officers to obtain the drug where Holt was living on West York Road. Officers who assisted in the drug buy included Austin officer Greg Green and Deputies Rex Herald and Justin Cheatham.
Holt is now charged with a Class B felony of dealing in a Schedule 1-3 controlled substance and with maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony.
The suspect appeared March 11 in Circuit Court with his attorney and entered a not guilty plea to the charges.
Judge Roger Duvall set an initial jury trial date of August 18.
Holt filed a cash bond that same day and was released to await his trial.
