?    The following is a reminder to voter’s of photo ID requirement at the polls, absentee voting deadlines and polling location in Washington County.
    As absentee ballots are arriving in the mailboxes across the county, Washington County Clerk, Rita Martin is reminding registered voters of absentee ballot voting deadlines and photo ID requirements.
    The clerk’s office will be open for absentee voting on Saturday, November 1, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you are planning to vote absentee by mail, your application had to be filed in the clerk’s office by October 27.
    November 3 at noon is the deadline to vote absentee in the clerk’s office and to file an application to vote absentee before the traveling board.
    Voters are required to present photo ID before casting a ballot either at the polls on election day or before voting absentee in the clerks’ office.
    The ID must fit the following criteria:
    ID must display your photo.
    Voter’s name on the ID must conform with your voter registration record(not identical).
    ID must contain an expiration date and either will be current or have expired sometime after November 7, 2006.
    ID must be issued by the State of Indianan or the US government.
    In most cases, an Indiana’s driver license, Indiana photo ID car, US passport or military service ID will suffice. If a voter does not possess ID, meeting these requirements, the law required the BMV to issue an Indiana State ID card free of charge, as long as the voter is able to present sufficient identifying documentation.

State Road 160; Gibson Township, Fire House, North State Road 39 in Little York; Howard Township, J.D.’s Dance Ranch, 2096 West Vincennes Trail Road; Jackson Township, Fire House, 4330 East Martinsburg Fire Road in Martinsburg; Jefferson Township, Fire house, West Walnut Ridge Road; Madison, Fire House, Church Street in Livonia; Monroe Township, Fire house, corner of North State Road 135 and North Lick Skillet Road; East Pierce, Park Shelter House in Pekin; West Pierce, J.D.’s Dance Ranch, 2096 West Vincennes Trail Road, Polk, East Washington Middle School gym, Green briar Road in Pekin; East Posey, Town Hall, US Highway 150, Fredericksburg; West Posey, Community Building, US Highway 150 in Hardinsburg, Vernon, West Washington School Superintendent Building, West Mt. Tabor Road, Washington 1, 4-H Building at fairgrounds’ Washington 2, American Legion Bingo Hall in Salem; Washington 3, Salem Airport, 2593 West State Road 56 in Salem and Washington 4, 4-H building at the fairgrounds.
    Both www.IndianaVoters.com and the Hoosier Voter Hotline, toll free at 866-IN-1-Vote, are available to check the status of a person’s voter registration and the location of their polling place. Voters may also cal the county clerk’s office for specific county related questions during regular business house Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. -4 p.m.
    On Election Day, the Washington County Clerk’s office will be open for election business at 5 a.m.
