The Sellersburg Celebrates! Planning committee recently met for their monthly meeting. During the meeting the grand marshal of the parade was announced and a logo design contest approved.Grand Marshal- Cole Williams
Sellersburg Celebrates! President Rick Cannon announced Cole Williams will be the grand marshal of this year’s parade. Cole is a senior at Silver Creek High School and is making his mark in the stock car racing scene. He has 109 starts with 47 wins, 94 Top 5, 99 Top 10 and DNF just seven times.
Williams, 17, was the 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Missouri State Champion and was also named Missouri Rookie of the Year. He was also the I-44 Speedway Late-Model Points Champion.
Williams began racing in 2007 after his parents purchased him a go-kart. He won a main event in only his second start and had five starts in a Mini-Cup ½ scale stock car his first year racing.
He followed up his first year winning six feature events and earning several awards in 2008 including I.K.O. (Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio) Mini-Cup Regional Champion, MMRA Future Star National Rookie of the Year and third place in MMRA Future Star National points. Cole continued to earn awards and feature events in the Mini-Cups before spending the 2010 season in a Baby-Grand, 2/3 scale Stock Car where he also had five starts in the Mini-Cups. During the season Williams collected 17 feature wins (14 in the Baby-Grand and three in Mini-Cup).
The next season, 2011, Cole ran a full season in the family owned Pro Late-Model. During the season Williams captured one feature win at I-44 Speedway at just 15 years old and in his only ninth start in a Pro Late-Model.
Cole will be on hand during Sellersburg Celebrates! for autograph sessions and will have his car in the parade.
Williams plans to race most of this season in Nashville, Tennessee but also has races scheduled in Indianapolis, Missouri and Salem Speedway.

The Sellersburg Celebrates! Planning Committee has set the 2014 festival theme. The theme will be Sellersburg Celebrates! Community Pride.
The deadline to enter the contest is Friday, April 11.
