Charlestown man arrested in murder for hire plot PDF Print E-mail
On January 2, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Charlestown Police Department’s Special Response and K-9 Teams were assisted by the A.T.F. in the arrest of 23 year old Kristopher Lee Washington of Charlestown in a case that began approximately two weeks ago as an undercover Charlestown Police narcotics sting inside a Charlestown apartment complex.  
The undercover narcotics investigation quickly developed into a murder for hire case after Washington allegedly attempted to solicit someone in the apartment complex.  Washington’s intended target was in relation to a previous drug case that is still pending in Clark County.
Detectives quickly focused their attention in establishing probable cause on Washington that included the control buys of both weapon and narcotic purchases.  After Washington’s arrest, Charlestown Police executed a search warrant for Washington’s apartment where Police located additional evidentiary items related to this case.
This case is still an on-going investigation therefore no additional details or information can be released at this time.
Kristopher Lee Washington was booked into the Clark County Jail on the preliminary charges of A-Felony Conspiracy to Commit Murder, B-Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, C-Felony Prohibited Sale of a Firearm to a Convicted Felon, C-Felony Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, D-Felony Neglect of a Dependent, D-Felony Dealing in Marijuana to a Recipient Under 18 years of age, 2 counts of D-Felony Maintaining a Common Nuisance, 2 counts of A-Misdemeanor Dealing in Marijuana, and 2 counts of A-Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
