KRISTY LYNN WEYRAUCH, 34, of Salem, died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at St. Vincent Salem Hospital.
She was born on March 20, 1979 in Indianapolis to the late Allen Andrew Balay and Dreama Ann Graves Balay.
Survivors include her husband, James Scott Weyrauch of Salem; her son, James Andrew Weyrauch of Salem; her daughters, Samantha Lynn and Sabrina Allen Weyrauch, both of Salem; her brothers, Aaron Lee Slye of Salemand and Michael Scott Kelley of New Albany.
Funeral services are private.
Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.


RALPH EDWARD KIRBY, 63, of Salem, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at his home.
He was born March 12, 1950 in Salem to Robert and Catherine Gilstrap Kirby.  He was a retired employee of Blue River Wood Products and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his daughters:  Kellie Kirby of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Kristie Kirby and Kimberlee Rhoades, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; his brothers:  James and Paul Kirby, both of Salem; his sister:  Janet Gibbons of Salem; his mother; and four grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father; a brother: Michael Kirby; his half-brothers: Gene and Frank Kirby; and a half-sister: Vera Gilchrist.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 30, 2013 at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial followed in Mill Creek Cemetery.


BERNICE J. THRASER HUNT, 57, Georgetown, died Friday, December 12, 2013 at her home.
She was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church where she served as a Bible school teacher.
Survivors include her husband: Barry Hunt; her daughter: Brittany Hunt Chambers; three sisters and her mother.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 11, 2014 at Indian Creek Baptist Church, 3331 Georgetown-Greenville Road in Georgetown.

DORTHY ANDIS HARMON, 92, Noblesville, formerly of Scottsburg, died Sunday, December 29, 2013.
She was born on June 7, 1921 in Scottsburg to the late Leslie and Haze; Hostettler Andis. She was a homemaker and was active in many community organizations.
Survivors include her daughters: Arlene C. (Terry) White of Carmel and Teresa Jane (Bill) Schmidt of Beech Grove; her son: Dr. Sam (Michelle) Harmon of Noblesville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Dr. Samuel Harmon; and her brother: Thomas Andis.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Stewart & Hoagland Funeral Home, with burial in Scottsburg Cemetery.

ANDREW W. DUCHARME, 35, New Albany, died Sunday, December 29, 2013.
He was born on January 3, 1978 in Downers Grove, Ill., to Dan Ducharme and the late Janelle (Jones) Ducharme.
Other survivors include his fiancée, Allison Rickard; children, Victoria Bennett, Wesley Ducharme, and Josalyn Ducharme; sister, Michelle Ducharme; brother, David Ducharme; nephew, Alexander Ducharme; grandmother, Ginny Ducharme; and stepmother, Cheryl Banet Ducharme. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Wesley and Georgiana Jones and Albert Ducharme.
Visitation will begin at 5 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 7 pm.

SHIRLEY IRENE SCOTT ROSS, 74, of Sellersburg, died Monday, December 30, 2013 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 1, 1939 in Scottsburg to the late Sherrill P. and Elsa Irene Kirk Scott. She was a former employee of the old Indiana Army Ammunition Plant and Clark Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Charlestown Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her sons, Scott S. Ross of Charlestown and Steven R. Ross of New Washington; her daughter, Melanie I. Higdon of New Washington; her sisters, Reatha Hager of Eaton, Oh., Joyce Baird, Denise Mount and Marcia Baird, all of Marysville; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Sherrill Ray Scott; her sister, Deirdre Scott Dickey; and her grandson, Jacob Ross.
Funeral services will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Collins Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 9 am on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at Crown Hill Cemetery in New Washington.

TAMI JO DURBIN, 26, of Hardinsburg, died Monday, December 30, 2013 in a car accident.
She was born November 11, 1987 in Louisville to Jeffrey S. and Mary Louise Booker Durbin.  She was an employee of Jay C Food Store in Salem and a member of Hardinsburg Christian Church.
Other survivors include her step-mother: Donna Durbin of Paoli, her sisters:  Tara Durbin Brock of Charlestown and Taylor Nicole Durbin of Hardinsburg, her grandmother: Cathy Wright of Hardinsburg, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents:  Sharon and Murphy Booker and Chester Wright, and her cousin: Ryan Abbott.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Hardinsburg Christian Church. Burial will follow in Hardinsburg Cemetery.

DARLENE VIRGINIA WATSON, 78, Charlestown, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her home.
She was born on September 22, 1935 to William and Mary (Hiser) Scott in Knob Lick, Ky. She was a retired waitress and a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Charlestown Chapter.
Survivors include her daughters, Rosemary V. Mayes (Jim) of Palmyra, LeJena Huff (Richard) of Charlestown, Betty Bishop (Clinton) of Willisburg, Ky., and Joanie Watson of Henryville; her grandchildren, Sherry, Darrell, Tanya, Christy, Nora, Emily, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Emadalyn, and Kathryn; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sons, William Owen Schlenker, and Joseph M. Lucas, Jr.; and her great-granddaughter, Megan D. DeBosky.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery.

FRANK E. VERY, Pekin, formerly of Charlestown, died Saturday, December 14, 2013.
He was born on August 11, 1937 in New Albany to the late Frank E., Sr. and Naomi Bline Very. He was retired from I.C.I America and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, both in Charlestown.
Survivors include his wife: Jennifer “Jen” Miller Very; his daughter: E. Lisa (Marvin) Schmidt; his son: V. Derek Very; his grandchildren: Adam (Leanna) Schmidt, Amber (Scott) Sullivan, and Andi (Josh) Leet; his great-grandchildren: Noah, Leah and Brooklynn Schmidt, and Abigail and Elanor Leet; and his sister: Pearl Kannapel.

NANCY L. RAINBOLT, 80, Salem, died Friday, December 27, 2013 at her residence.
She was born on August 14, 1933 in Corydon to the late Roy and Carrie Belle Harris Fulkerson. She was retired from GKN Sinter Metals in Salem.
Survivors include her daughters: Cheryl Hacker and Cynthia Rainbolt, both of Salem, and Patricia Zink of Campbellsburg; her brother: Vance Fulkerson of New Albany; nine grandchildren and12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Claude E. Rainbolt, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Dawalt Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

COLLEEN M. BOWER, 86, Salem, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Salem Crossing.
She was born on October 26, 1927 in Salem to the late Roy and Lillie Applegate Hattabaugh. She was an employee of the old Washington County Memorial Hospital and a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She also attended West Side Baptist Church in Salem.
Survivors include her sons: Dr. Greg (Becky) Philpott of Greenville and Mayor David (Jamie) Bower of Salem; her sisters: Kathleen Sarver and Linda McClellan, both of Salem; her brother: Harry Hattabaugh of Campbellsburg; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son: Eric Philpott; her sister: Mary Johnson; and her brother: Clayton Hattabaugh.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Dawalt Funeral Home, with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery.

NELLIE W. PAYNE, 92, St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Salem, died at the Hospice House Woodside in St. Petersburg.
She was born on February 16, 1916 in Salem to the late George and Amanda Peugh.
Survivors include her daughter: Marlou Watson of St. Petersburg; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Erman Payne.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Winslow Cemetery in Salem.

BARBRA JEAN ZOLLMAN, 58, of Henryville, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Scott Memorial Hospital.
She was born on September 29, 1955 to Raleigh Virgil Zollman, Sr. and Carolyn Lorene (Lawson) Zollman in Scott County.
Survivors include her sons, Chad Zollman of Underwood and Joshua Hall of Henryville; her daughter, Chasty Land of Henryville; her brother, Dennis Zollman of Otisco; her sister, Patsy Day of Memphis; her half-sister, Hazel Mart; and six grandchildren.

HIRAM L. JUDD, 93, Scottsburg, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014.
He was born on May 28, 1920 in Hayden, Ind. to the late Robert Howard and Edna Heaton Judd. He was the retired co-owner and later owner of Pioneer Village, retired owner of Scottsburg Lanes, Austin Hardware and Judd’s Hardware. He was a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg.
Survivors include his sons: Jerry (Pat) and Richard (Sandra) Judd, both of Scottsburg, Billy (Donna) Judd of Carmel, Kevin (Teresa) Judd of Seymour, and Roger (Joyce) Judd of Dansville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Betty White Judd; his brothers: R.H. Judd, Jr., Dr. Marvin Judd, and Gordon Judd; and his sisters: Lillian Schneck, Thelma Henry, and Mabel Edna Judd.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Stewart & Hoagland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crothersville Cemetery.

LESTER G. TIMBERLAKE, 83, of Lanesville, died Thursday, January 2, 2014.
He was born on May 30, 1930 in Harrison County to the late Joseph M. and Esther Lockman Timberlake. He retired in 1991 from Burt R. Huncilman & Son in New Albany.
He is survived by his wife, Norma J. Long Timberlake; his children, Michael Timberlake and Nettie Starr (Larry) Smith; his sisters, Evelyn McRae, Dora Seeley, Rose Davis, Betty (Wayne) Woertz; his grandchildren, George Timberlake, Len Timberlake, Catherine Smith, Melanie Henderson, Margaret Smith; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Glen Timberlake.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Mt. Zion UMC. Burial will be at Edwardsville Cemetery.

DONALD E. WALTON, 75, of Pekin, died Friday January 3, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on June 22, 1938 to the late Arnie E. Walton and Viola (Quebbeman) Walton. He was a retired Postal Carrier.
Survivors include: wife, Bonnie L. Walton of Pekin; his step-sons, Russell Baker (Donna) of Pekin and Charles Baker (Linda) of Indianapolis; and his grandchildren, Olivia and Aaron Baker. He was preceded in death by: his brother Robert Walton, and his sister, Virginia Hogan.
The funeral service will be at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2013 at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Burial will follow at Martinsburg Cemetery.

THOMAS DALE CASE, 56, of Deputy, died Friday, January 03, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on March 10, 1957 in Scottsburg to William and Bessie Clements Case. He worked for Selmier State Forestry until taking a medical leave. He had previously worked at White Eye Valley Farms in Lexington and Walp Logging in Deputy. He attended Madison Consolidated Schools. He was member of U.S.A. Bassin and a former member of Jaycee’s in Scottsburg.
He is survived by his wife Joy Case of Deputy, Indiana; his daughters, Brandy (Jamie Humphrey) Case of Canaan, Ind., and Samantha Case of Deputy; his brother, Donald (Edna) Case of Deputy; his sisters, Sondra (Don) Walp and Betty (Roger) Williams, both of Deputy, and Sharon (Barry) Willis of Greenwood; and his granddaughter, Megan Humphrey of Canaan. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Larry, Duane and Joe Case.
Funeral Services were held Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Burial followed at the Carmel Cemetery in Deputy.

DEBORAH JO “DEBBIE” WILSON SHULER, 34, of Crothersville, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born July 15, 1979 in Seymour to the late, Laban “David” and JoAnn Allen Wilson, who survives in Crothersville. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Scottsburg.
Other survivors include her husband, Lee Shuler of Crothersville, her daughter, Taylor Louann Shuler of Crothersville, her son, Erik David Lee Shuler of Crothersville, and her sister, Trisha Wilson Satchwill of Crothersville.

BETTY EWIN, 90, of Crothersville, died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Scottsburg.
She worked at the former US shoe factory , then worked at the former Nolting’s Grocery. She was a member of Crothersville Senior Citizens, First Baptist Church of Crothersville, and attended the Eveready Sunday School class, Phi Beta Psi Soriety.
Survivors include, her daughter, Pat Combs of Crothersville, her son James “Buster” Erwin of Crothersville, her grandchildren, Joe (Shedera) Combs of Texarkana, Tex., Michelle (Kenny) Gambrell of Scottsburg, Brad Erwin of Crothersville, A.W. (Connie) Combs of Mississippi, Tricia (Jason) Brown, of Hayden, Jill Erwin of Jeffersonville, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Miles Erwin.

ALPHA JEAN BROWN, 88, died Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Corydon Nursing Home.
She was born in Bloomingburg, Oh. on July 4, 1925 to Harry Elwood and Lina Edith Warner Allen. She was a retired employee of Harrison County Hospital where she worked as a nursing assistant, and she was a member of the Corydon United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raleigh “Peck” Brown and a grandson Stanley Lee Swift and a great grandson, David Lee William Swift.
She is survived by her daughters- Judith Linn Woods and Mary Ellen Hill both of Corydon, her brother- John Elwood Allen of Arizona, her sisters- Linda Lou Graves of Wilmington, Oh. and Barbara Newman of Jeffersonville, Oh., six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 2 pm at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in Pfrimmer’s Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Corydon on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of services.

MICHAEL CHARLES HARPER, 47, of Sellersburg, died January 3, 2014 at his home.
He was born on January 5, 1966 in Peru, Ind. to Claude Samuel Harper and Wilma Vojkufka.  He was a former maintenance man.
He is survived by his son; Michael N. Harper of Sellersburg, his daughter; Nicole Fouch of Louisville, his step-mother; Joan Harper of Sellersburg, his brothers; David and Kevin Harper, both of Charlestown, his sisters; Lisa Welling of Louisiana, Christy Cooper of Hanover, and Deanna Harper of Lexington, Ky.
Memorial services will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday January 8, 2014 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown. Visitation will be after 1 pm on Wednesday.

CHARLES RUSSELL LUCAS, 72, of Seymour, died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in Seymour on September 29, 1941 to the late Charles W. and Nora Niewedde Lucas. He had worked at Weyershaeuser in Seymour and then drove a semi for Consolidated Freight Way, where he retired.. After retirement he began driving a truck for Boknecht Trucking where he retired from last year. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #655, American Legion #89 and the Teamester Union #135.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Gay Lucas, his daughter, Donna (Scott) Beineke, his grandson, Chase (Chelsey) Beineke, his great-granddaughter, Charlie Grace Beineke, his siblings Patty (Harold “Stretch”) Wineinger, Dale (Terry) Lucas, Penny Devoll and Jerry Lucas, and his special niece Holly Posey, along with several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jim and infant John G. Lucas and sister,  infant Alice M. Lucas and Peggy Jo Strong.
Funeral service will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11 am with the Rev. Dennis Allman Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Acme Cemetery in Acme, Ind.

CALON “JUNIOR" TANNER, 70, of Henryville, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at his home.
He was born December 14, 1943 in Crailholt, Ky., to the late Calvin Waddell and Valda Bishop Tanner, who survives in Louisville.
He retired from CSX railroad and had currently been working at Adams IGA in Henryville.
Other survivors include his children, Dana (Rusty) Irish of Henryville, David (Teresa) Tanner of Henryville, Karen M. His brother Billy Tom Tanner preceded him in death.
Pastor Bart will conduct funeral services at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Adams Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, with entombment of cremains at Mt Zion Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 4 until 8 pm and after 12 pm on Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home and Crematory in Henryville.

DAVID WAYNE FLYNN, 45, of Charlestown, died Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Glenda Hogg Flynn of Charlestown; his brother, Scott Anthony Flynn (Angie) of Charlestown; his sister, Anjanette Wise (Russ) of Charlestown; his nieces; Kayla Flynn, and Jacy Woods; and his nephew, Luke Woods.
Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 11am on Wednesday.

NINA JUDELL FRAZIER, 92, of Charlestown, died Sunday January 5, 2014 at her home.
She was born on August 15, 1921 in Hartford, KY to Fred and Erah Johnson Gabbard.  She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlestown.  She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #597 in Charlestown and served as Past District Deputy of District 3 of the O.E.S. as well as Past Grand Esther of the State of Indiana.
She is survived by her husband Murl Frazier of Charlestown, and brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday January 12, 2014 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 6 pm on Saturday and after 11 am on Sunday.
Eastern Star services will be held at 5 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

MELANIE BLANTON, 41, of Charlestown, died Sunday morning January 5, 2014 with her family at her side.
She was the mother of Chelsea and Sarah, wife of Jess, and sister of Melissa Grant (identical twin) and Anne Mitchell (Lamont).
Along with her husband, daughters and sisters, she leaves behind to mourn her passing: her mother Ellen Robey, mother-in-law Helen Humphrey (Carl), Father-in-law Charlie Blanton (Tempa), son-in-law Scott Casey (Sarah), Sisters-in-laws Donna and Cindy Blanton, Brothers-in-laws Clint Humphrey and Lamont Mitchell (Anne), nieces Ashley Williams and Shayna Lewis, nephews Stephon Lewis, Jordan Lewis and Erick Grant, great nieces Heaven Williams and Sophia Williams, along with a host of cherished friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Oleta Sarah Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 1 pm Thursday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.

GERTRUDE MAE EMELY LENSON, 85, died Saturday, January 4, 2014.
She was born on April 30, 1928 in New Albany, to the late Ray and Alice M. (Walker) Emely. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Floyds Knobs.
She is survived by her children, Linda Eaton, Rick Lenson (Theresa); sister, Mary Graves; granddaughters, Jill Sluder (Derek), Brittany Mitchell; great grandchildren, Autumn Grant, Nate, Sean Sluder.; great-great grandsons, Xavier and Toby; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles H. Lenson, Jr.; sisters, Anna Mae Kelly and Betty Herman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
