BILL R. PREWITT, 77, of Lexington, died Monday, December 9, 2013 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
He was born on February 10, 1936 in Grant County, Ky., to the late Clarence and Gladys (McGrew) Prewitt. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 181 in Henderson, Ky., also co-owner of the old Prewitt Construction Company in Scottsburg, was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church near Lexington, and was a veteran of the Indiana Army Reserves in Scottsburg.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Prewitt; a son, Dan Prewitt of Lexington; three daughters, Connie Rose and her husband Chuck of Scottsburg, Tracy Wells and her husband Glen of Lexington, and Shelby Boley and her husband Roger of Scottsburg; a sister, Judy Samples and her husband Ronnie of Austin; her granddaughters, Christa West (Evan), Laura Justice (Tristan) and Carmen Boley; five great grandchildren, and several generations of nieces and nephews, including David, Travis and Chet Wilson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Wilson.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Friday at First Baptist Church with burial in Estil Cemetery.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Thursday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, IN and after 9 am Friday at the church.

HELEN C. VANMETER, 78, of Charlestown, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 28, 1935 in Scottsburg to George and Mary Beckett Brishaber. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and worked at Phillip Morris in Louisville.
Survivors include, two children, a daughter, Karissa D. VanMeter of Charlestown, a son, James A. VanMeter of Sellersburg, 3 grandchildren, Christopher D. Zollman of Scottsburg, Marissa D. Zollman of Paoli, Haley R. VanMeter of Hollywood, FL, 6 great grandchildren, Julia T. Polley of Seymour, IN, Garrett L. Zollman of Scottsburg, Heavenly L. Zollman of New Albany, Dakota R. Zollman, Mikayla L. Doan, Allison P. Doan all of Paoli, and a sister, Catherine Rose of Underwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis C. VanMeter, 2 brothers, James A. Brishaber and Calvin Brishaber, 1 brother in law, Meral Rose.
Pastor Charlie Jones will conduct funeral services at 11 am on Friday, December 13, 2013 with burial to follow at Bunker Hill Cemetery.

OTIS J. BEGLEY, 67, of Austin, originally from Perry County, Kentucky died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at his residence.
He was born September 25, 1946 in Bowlingtown, KY.
He was a member of the Bowlingtown Heritage Association and he was a retired Chef.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Marie Robbins, who he married on December 22, 1997; sons: Jeff (Ann) Begley, Raleigh, N.C. and David (Tonya) Begley, Cary, N.C. ; daughters: Kimberly (Richard) Starr, Youngstown, NC; and Jennifer (James D.) Coomer, Scottsburg; a brother, Terry Begley, Austin; sisters: Esther Parton, Indianapolis, Bea Calloway, Madison and Mary Ann Begley, Madison. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ottis and Mary (Couch) Begley, grandparents Johnny and Vina (Wooten) Begley and his brother, Edgar Begley.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday December 14, 2013 at Buchanan Funeral Home with Cremation to follow.

MERLE C. BROWN, 99, Banner, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
He was born on June 5, 1914 in Pekin to the late Peter and Lula Lochenour Brown. He worked for Vulcan Hart and was a member of Big Spring Church of Christ.
Survivors include his sons: Lawrence and John Phillip Brown; his daughter: Susan Wetzel; his brothers: Elmo and Jessie Brown; his sister: Ruth McKinney; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Ruth Crim Brown; his son: David Brown; and his brothers: Oren, Arnold, Robert and Pete Donald Brown.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 13, 2013 at Love Funeral Home. Burial followed in Martinsburg Cemetery.
LONNIE R. SPICER, 74, Palmyra, died Monday, December 9, 2013 at Harrison County Hospital.
He was born in Jackson, Ky. He worked as a machine operator for 35 years at C. Lee Cook in Louisville.
Survivors include his wife: Wanda Spicer; his sons: Gary, Dwane and Tim Spicer; his daughters: Tammy Hill and Sherri Spicer; his step-children: Donna Stewart, Rita Walridge and Ricky Overstreet; his brothers: Cecil and Junior Spicer; his sister: Effie Smith; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, a brother, a daughter and four grandchildren.

JAMES A. “JIMMY” WEBSTER, 66, of Seymour, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his home.
He was born on September 19, 1947 in Scottsburg to Chester A. and Lillian F. Hants Webster. He owned and operated Jim Webster Used Cars for 20 years and worked for Bob Poynter GM and Ford for 15 years. He worked as used car Manager until March of this year.
He is survived by his Patricia Ann Cathcart; his daughters, Sonya (Shannon) Smith of Scottsburg and Stephanie (Stacey) Jones of Lanesville, grandchildren: Cody Smith, Kelsey Smith, Hunter Cross, Lillian Jones, Coen Jones and Connor Jones; 3 brothers: Frank (JoAnn) Webster, Tommy (Diane) Webster, Ricky Webster and a large extended family. His parents, daughter, Lisa Michelle Webster; son, Timothy Brian Webster; a sister, Joyce Turner and brother, Chester L. Webster preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, with burial in Crothersville Cemetery.

JAMES T. LINDERMAN, SR., 73, of Lexington, formerly of New Albany, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
He was born on July 22, 1940 in New Albany to the late Chester D., I and Mary A. (Ballard) Linderman. He was a retired truck driver and a United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma (Northern) White-Linderman; children, James Linderman, Jr., Linda Linderman, Chris Linderman (Debbie), Charles Linderman, Michelle Willoughby (Justin); step-sons, Nicholas White (Michelle), Jonathan White; 6 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and a step great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Veron) Linderman; and son, Joseph Linderman.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home. Burial with military honors took place at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

BILLY G. ASHABRANER, 70, of Clarksville, died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville.
He was born July 25, 1943 in Salem to the late Alvin and Esta Terrell Ashabraner. He was a horse trainer at Church Hill Downs and a published author. He was also a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Stanglewitz) of Clarksville, a daughter, Cindy (Brad) Bullock of Pekin, a son, Tod Ashabraner of Louisville, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and his sister, Betty (Jerry) Wingler of Salem. A brother, Buddy Ashabraner, preceded him in death.

She was born October 9, 1989 in Jeffersonville to David Harbold and Danette Barrett Boyer.

CHARLES J. GREBETZ, 92, Scottsburg, died Saturday, December 14, 2013 in Jeffersonville.
He was born on June 4, 1921 in Columbus, Oh. to Paul and Karoline Szeiff Grebetz. He was a retired from the Columbus Dispate newspaper as a photo engraver and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife: Vivian J. Grebetz of Scottsburg; his daughters: Connie Levi (Kirk) of Amity, Ore. And Sheri Wirth (Matt) of Scottsburg; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 10 siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Columbus, Oh. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Oh.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of services on Monday.

RENITA GAYLE FOUSE, 77, Hanover, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Davis Elderly Care Home.
He was born on May 2, 1936 in Saluda, Ind. to the late Carl and Addie King Turner. He worked early in life at Thompson Glass Dairy in Madison. He was later employed with the Jefferson Proving Ground in Madison, retiring as a proof director. After retirement, he worked for Chandler Chevrolet for several years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Linda L. Bowyer Turner of Hanover; his daughter, Carole Evonne Koerner and her husband, Jess of Nabb; his son, Steven Bradley Turner and his wife, Jill of Lagrange; his grandchildren, Todd McGlothlin, Ryan McGlothlin, Madison Turner and Max Turner; his great grandchildren, Ryan Scott, Katelyn, Kelsie, Raylon, Landon and Talyah; his sisters, Evonne Siebenthal of Indianapolis, Judith Searcy and her husband, Jim of Sanders, Ky.; his brother, Wesley Turner of Hanover; his brother in laws, Dennis Bowyer of Saluda, Delano Bowyer of Brooksburg, Ind.; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gale and Loren Turner; his sister, Lucile Harsin; and his brother in law, Eddie Bowyer.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery near Saluda, with full military honors at the graveside provided by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.

She was born on March 26, 1915 in Jefferson County to the late Charles and Letha Kessler Wehner. She worked early in life at the Five and Dime Store in downtown Madison and was a member of the Wirt Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwendolyn Kay Law and her husband, Billy of Madison; her sons,Darryl H. Ritchie and his wife, Patti of Hanover, Indiana, Charles F. Ritchie and his wife, June of Hanover; her sisters, Aneta and Carl Furnish of Madison, Phyllis Smith of Hanover, Letha Ebley Long of Hanover, Imogene Cline of Madison; her brothers, Harlen Wehner and his wife, Polly of Madison, Gerald Wehner and his wife, Ruby of Hanover; several nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and three step-great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her her husband, Howard O. Ritchie; her brothers, Ernest Otto, Charles, Raymond and Leo Wehner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.
