The Eastern boys’ basketball team suffered two more losses last weekend, making their total from the season 0-4 heading into this weekend’s Washington County Holiday Tournament.

On Friday (Dec. 13) the Musketeers lost to visiting Crawford County 56-42.

It was Eastern’s home-opener, but it wasn’t a happy one. They were led in scoring by Jude Olesh with 14 points and Alex Doebler added 9.

On Saturday the Musketeers dropped their fourth game in as many tries, losing to the host Clarksville Generals 80-72.

Assistant Coach Mark Olesh said early in the game the Musketeers played as well as they had all year, jumping out to an early 18-15 lead.

The Generals responded in the second and led 39-30 at intermission.

Four Musketeers ended up with double digits in scoring: Grant Newcomb had 18, Olesh followed with 17, Dakota Snider put in 16, and Alex Doebler ended with 10.

The loss dropped Eastern to 0-2 in Mid Southern Conference play.

They will be looking for their first win of the season when they take on Borden in the first game of the holiday tournament at Salem.

Eastern and Borden play at 6 p.m. and Salem will take on West Washington at approximately 7:45.

The winners of Friday’s games will play Saturday at around 7:45, while the losers will play in the consolation game Saturday at 6 p.m.
