|Southern Indiana girl places 5th in NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Team Championships|
Before the Indianapolis Colts took the field Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium, a group of talented children competed in the NFL’s Punt, Pass & Kick Team Championships. Among the competitors was 13 year-old Renee Sisloff of Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
During the competition early Sunday morning, each child stood at the goal line and had the chance to punt, pass, and kick a football. Each attempt was measured and scored based on distance and accuracy. Renee did an outstanding job during the competition, and ended up placing 5th in her age category. She took home a football trophy for her efforts, and had the chance to watch the Indianapolis Colts game with her father Neil Sisloff. At halftime, Renee and the rest of the PP&K athletes were invited onto the field to show off their skills, and to be introduced to the home crowd.
Renee started her road to Indianapolis, by competing in a local competition offered by Clarksville Parks & Recreation. Her high score in that initial event qualified her for a spot in the sectionals in Princeton, Indiana. During sectionals, Renee outperformed her competition and earned herself a spot in the Team Championships.
Clarksville Parks & Recreation plans to hold another local Punt, Pass & Kick competition in the fall of 2014.
