ARTHUR THOMAS, 88, of Lexington, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at Scott Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 23, 1925 in Disney, Ky., to the late Henry Clay and Laura Jane Robbins Thomas. He was a retired laborer from the old I.C.I. America in Charlestown and also a former coal miner for Peabody Coal Company in Kentucky. He was a member of the Lexington Christian Church and a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth N. Thomas; two daughters, Virginia Lynette Hoskins of Sellersburg, and Kathy Rhea Moore of Rockford, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Evelyn L. Gray of New Albany; a stepson, Samuel A. White of Jeffersonville; his sisters, Macy Soloe of Lexington, LaQuita Spivey and Imogene White, both of Scottsburg; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Olin, Curtis, James E., Everett and Shirley Thomas and his sisters, Opalene Thomas, Myrtle Blaylock and Ada Napier.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Thursday at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Lexington Cemetery.
Visitation: 5 to 8 pm Wednesday and after 11 am Thursday.
EDGAR HENRY MANSFIELD, 71, Corydon, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
He was born on November 1, 1942 in Lanesville to Henry Grady and Velvia Faye Walker Mansfield. He was a welder at Jeff Boat in Jeffersonville, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in New Salisbury.
He is survived by his wife - Betty Harlow Mansfield of Corydon; his sons- Tony Edward Mansfield (Trina) of Palmyra, and Russell Mansfield (Amanda) of Hardinsburg; his daughter- Tonya Wiseman (Jim) of Central, Ind.; his brothers- Robert Mansfield of New Albany and Sam Mansfield of Louisville; his sisters- Sarah Ott of Georgetown, Kathy Satterfield of Depauw, Linda Mansfield and Elsie Holland both of Louisville, and Jane Lewis of Palmyra; his grandchildren- T.J., Taylor, Gage and Kyren Mansfield and Frankie and Amanda Wiseman; and his great-grandchildren- Logan and Aeryn Mansfield, Ryder Wilson and Ivey Wiseman.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. Pastor Mike McHone will officiate. Burial will be in Wolfe Cemetery near Georgetown.
Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 8 PM Wednesday and after 8 AM Thursday at the funeral home in Corydon.
The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society.
FLORENCE EVELYN PELLMAN, 90, Elizabeth, Ind., died Monday, December 2, 2013 at her home.
She was born on September 9, 1923 in Elizabeth the daughter of Lorenza Dow “Edward” and Eliza Jane Pellman Langsdon.
She is survived by her children- Judy K. Pellman , Joyce F. Dunn (Clarence), Darrell W. Pellman, Michael R. Pellman (Donna), Roger D. Pellman (Carol), Douglas E. Pellman (Sherry), Roy N. Pellman (Lisa), Jolanda G. Hubert, Connie S. Green (Robert), Kathy L. Frans (Mike), Daniel T. Pellman, Tammy K. Pellman-Balint, 46 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles James Pellman, Sr. and her siblings Edward Langsdon, Altha M. Martin, Lorene Wilson, Ruth M. Mathis, Mary K. Sprayberry, Carie E. Knear, Pearl Brown, Herman “Jim” Langsdon, Fred W. Langsdon, James E. Langsdon. Her half-brothers- William A. Melville and J. Melford Langsdon. One Great Granddaughter-Shannan Rena Dunn and a Son-In-Law- Charles E. “Chuck” Hubert and a grandson Michael Parrott, Sr.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 6, 2013 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. Burial followed be in Edwardsville Cemetery.
BARBARA ANN CALLOWAY, 60, of Austin, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born on November 7, 1953 in Scottsburg, to the late James and Lucy Campbell Spicer. She was a former employee of Goodwill and Walmart, both in Scottsburg, and a member of the New Providence Baptist Church in Austin.
Survivors include two sons, James R.E. Calloway of Seymour and David S.B. Calloway of Scottsburg; three sisters, Patricia Bales of Scottsburg, Yvonne (Lula) Hickman of Scottsburg, and Mary Ellen Bates-Lowry of Madison, Ind.; two brothers, Ronnie Spicer of Austin, and Lonnie Spicer of Columbus, Indiana and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 7, 2013 at Collins Funeral Home. Cremation followed the service. Burial will be held at a later date in New Providence Cemetery.

RENA JOHNSON, 63, of Austin, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born on March 15, 1950 in Buckhorn, Ky., to the late Bill and Ethel Clem Roberts. She was a homemaker and a former employee of American Plastics in Scottsburg.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy McVey (Donald) of Paris Crossing, Pam Clements (Mark) and Debra Riley, both of Scottsburg, Dora Wilson, Ginger Mullins and Kelly Stagnolia (Brandon), all of Austin; her sons, L. Paul Johnson of Scottsburg and Jason Johnson of Saudi Arabia; her brothers, James, Tom, Ernest and Malcolm Roberts, all of Austin; her sisters, June Riley and Rosie Durham both of Austin, Billie Sanders of Deputy, and Betty Hutton of Scottsburg; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Tudy Vernon.

IRVIN WILLIAM MILLER, 86, Salem, died Friday, December 7, 2013 at Meadow View Nursing Home.
He was born on November 13, 1927 to Lawrence E. and Margery Crim Miller. He was a maintenance employee of Goodrich and a custodian at Bradie Shrum School. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife: Anita Ingram Miller; his stepdaughters: Debra Sturdevant, Jackie Journell (Ron) and Nancy Sizemore; his sister: Loretta McKillip; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Warren and Paul E. Miller; and his sister: Ruby.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.

Mary was born on June 29, 1930 in Scottsburg, IN the daughter of Sylvester and Nellie Mae Pierce Harris. She was an avid volunteer working at the The Palace in Louisville, Derby Dinner Playhouse, Meals on Wheels, Louisville Zoo and Clark Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her daughter, Vickie Rison(Barry Sr.), Clarksville; sister, Madelyn Hardin of Illinois; grandchildren, Chris, Stacy, Barry Jr. and Amanda; great-grandson, Brody; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmond Carson Henderson; son, Jack Rider; sisters, Lorriane Kraus and Rose Mullins; brother, Lowell Harris and a granddaughter, Jennifer Rider. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm , December 11, 2013 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Barnes Cemetery.

KEVIN LEE CARR, 55, of Pekin, died December 7, 2013 in Floyd Memorial Hospital.
He was born on July 27, 1958 in English, Ind., to Garrel Keith Carr , who survives, and the late Janet Marie Patton Carr. He was a Salesman with John Jones GM City of Salem, a member of Canton Christian Church and Gideon's, and he was an IHSAA Official.
Survivors include his wife: Laurie Wilkins Carr; his sons, Caleb Melancon, Kevin Lee Carr II, Jeffrey S. Geel, Matthew A. Geel, and Joshua Melancon; his daughters, Crystal Hickey, Amanda Woodard, Morgan Leah Carr, and Jessica M. Hampton; his sisters, Karla Wilkes and Kimberly Bean; nine grandchildren and another on the way. He was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Garrel Carr.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery in Crawford County.

DONALD WAYNE LAWS, 59, of Pekin, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at St. Vincent's Salem Hospital.
He was born on June 25, 1954 to Wayne James and Wilma Jean Johnson Laws, who survive and live in Statesville, N.C.. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and a carpenter by trade.
Survivors include his wife: Karen (Wheatley) Lawes, Pekin; his son, David Wayne Laws of Mt. Vernon, Ky.; his daughter, Kimberly Diane Laws of Pekin; his brothers, James Michael and Mark Laws, both of North Carolina; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include his father, Richard Joseph Bramer Jr., stepmother, Tammy Sue (Wynn) Bramer, both of Underwood; mother, Linda Sue Gosser of North Carolina; grandparents, Richard Joseph Bramer Sr. and Dolores (Schmeltz) Bramer of Pekin; son, Jadyn Wayne Bramer of Pekin; stepbrother, Steven Ray Heath of Henryville; stepsister, Tabbatha Gayle Heath of Pekin; uncle, Billy (Cathy) Bramer; aunt, Connie Croston. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Billie Joanna Gore.

He was born on February 25, 1961 in Clark County to Charles and Mildred Cartwright Johnson. He was a former analyst for the United States Census Bureau in Jeffersonville and a member of the Marysville Christian Church.
He is survived by his mother; brothers; Terry Johnson (Linda) of Otisco, and Darryl Johnson (Margaret) of Marysville, sister; Lora Banks (Marvell) of Otisco, nieces and nephews; Trena Robertson, Joseph Hamner, Williams Banks, Marvell Banks, JR., Dillan and Maria Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father Charles E. Johnson.

HENRY “HIGGY” S. PFLANZ, 82, of Corydon, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Corydon, to H. Stanley and Nellis M. Housefield Pflanz on October 13, 1931. He retired as Chief of the Federal Aviation Administration office in Nashville, Tenn. and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Alice Jackson Pflanz, one son, Henry S. Pflanz III of Ft Worth, Tex., one daughter, Kathy Pflanz, of Wilmington, N.C., one brother, Rick Pflanz of Corydon, and six sisters, Alice “Fofi” Fey of Corydon, Grace “Sissy” Gwen of Fern Creek, Ky., Margaret Jacobi (Melvin) of Palmyra, Ida Stilger of Lanesville, Virginia “Ginny” Garbrough of New Albany and Amy Schneider (Herb) of Lanesville.; 44 nieces and nephews and countless great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Morgan Pflanz.

BRADLEY CARL “PETE” TURNER, 77, Hanover, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Davis Elderly Care Home.
He was born on May 2, 1936 in Saluda, Ind. to the late Carl and Addie King Turner. He worked early in life at Thompson Glass Dairy in Madison. He was later employed with the Jefferson Proving Ground in Madison, retiring as a proof director. After retirement, he worked for Chandler Chevrolet for several years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Linda L. Bowyer Turner of Hanover; his daughter, Carole Evonne Koerner and her husband, Jess of Nabb; his son, Steven Bradley Turner and his wife, Jill of Lagrange; his grandchildren, Todd McGlothlin, Ryan McGlothlin, Madison Turner and Max Turner; his great grandchildren, Ryan Scott, Katelyn, Kelsie, Raylon, Landon and Talyah; his sisters, Evonne Siebenthal of Indianapolis, Judith Searcy and her husband, Jim of Sanders, Ky.; his brother, Wesley Turner of Hanover; his brother in laws, Dennis Bowyer of Saluda, Delano Bowyer of Brooksburg, Ind.; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gale and Loren Turner; his sister, Lucile Harsin; and his brother in law, Eddie Bowyer.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery near Saluda, with full military honors at the graveside provided by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 am until the time of services.

She was born December 4, 1944 in Seymour to the late Eliza Beavers and Eula Mae Lonsberry. She was an employee of Clark Memorial Hospital.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer (Gary) Parks, Jessica (Zach) Watts, Tawnie McCoy, Alicia (Josh) Sawyer, Eric Brewer, Leighton Brewer, Heath Brewer, and Brad Bowling; and great-grandchildren: Chase and Reece Parks, Cameron Watts, Devon, Geddy and Conner Engleking and, Ashlyn and Cruz Sawyer. She was precededin death by her husband, Charles Brewer, and her brother, Joe Beavers.
