One sure sign that the holiday season is in full swing is that the high school basketball season is underway. There were a number of games dotting the area schedule last week.
In Borden, the annual Eastern-Brave clash took place on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
There were lots of new faces on both teams, but the results were similar to what they have been in recent years.
Borden has won five in a row against the Musketeers including the 62-52 win on Nov. 26.
The same night, the Salem-West Washington girls played one another.
Senator Head Coach Wade Tomlinson picked up his first win in four tries against the team he lead to a sectional championship in 2001.
The Lady Senators won, 50-47.
On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, it was the Salem-WW boys taking the court.
The Senators took advantage of the home-court and picked up a 63-52 victory.
Rounding out the week was the Salem-Eastern girls playing one another last Saturday.
The Lady Musketeers won 51-38.
Eastern is off to a 4-1 start for the second year in a row.
West Washington’s girls are also off to a fast 3-1 start.
