|Fatal crash in Harrison County|
At approximately 7:26 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, troopers from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg and deputies from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department responded to a serious crash on State Road 135 at the intersection of Fairview Church Road in Harrison County.
A press release issued by the ISP said, the preliminary investigation revealed a 2008 Jeep, being driven by Denise L. Meitzler, 53, from Corydon, was traveling east bound on Fairview Church Road. When Meitzler approached the intersection of State Road 135, the release said, she ran the stop sign and entered onto State Road 135 where she was then struck in the passenger’s side, by a 1998 Dodge pickup truck being driven north bound by Paul F. Roberts, 21, from New Salisbury.
Meitzler was transporting her grandchild, Gabriel Redmon, 6-years-old at the time of the crash. All three people were transported by ambulance to the Harrison County Hospital where Denise Meitzler was pronounced dead.
Redmon was transferred from the Harrison County Hospital by air ambulance to the Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, with serious injuries and Paul Roberts suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Seatbelts and safety restraints were in use by all involved in the crash.
