The driver of an ATV was injured on Wednesday, October 30, when his vehicle was struck by a pickup truck.

James Sego, 67, was on a 2013 Honda Big Red all-terrain vehicle going west on Chasteen Road. He was being followed by a Chevy pickup driven by Casandra S. Hall, 24, Commiskey.

As Sego was approaching Sunnyside Road, Hall told Deputy Rodney Rudder that Sego “...put his left hand out.” She thought the gesture meant that he was signaling her to go around him. As she started to pass the ATV, Sego turned left, and she struck him. The pickup continued on and hit a utility pole, according to the report.

Scott County EMS personnel treated Sego at the scene for neck pain. He was then taken to Scott Memorial Hospital. Hall was listed as uninjured.

Damage was estimated at up to $25,000 by Deputy Rudder. He was assisted at the scene by Deputy Jeremy Arnold.
