The deadline to purchase tickets for the upcoming Washington County Family YMCA Tip-Off Banquet, featuring Indiana University head basketball coach Tom Crean as the keynote speaker, is drawing near reports Robin Deaton of the local YMCA.
Tickets for the pre-season banquet, to be held at Salem High School on Monday evening, October 21 at 6:30 p.m., will be available until October 16th.
Crean, who is entering his sixth season as Indiana coach, has led the Hoosiers to consecutive Sweet 16 appearances and a 56-16 record over the past two seasons. His guidance of the Indiana program to success from “unthinkable depths” is regarded as one of the most remarkable rebuilding projects in NCAA basketball history.
Crean, who will be making his Salem appearance just five days before the Hoosiers tip-off the 2013 season with an exhibition game against Southern Indiana, should provide plenty of insight on what to expect from the Cream and Crimson during the upcoming season.
Pig Miracle Barbecue of Salem is catering the banquet.
The general public is invited to attend this special evening with Coach Crean. Tickets for the Tip-Off Banquet are priced at $40 each. Tickets can be purchased at the Washington County Family YMCA or by calling 812-883-8495. Tickets are also available at Mid-Southern Savings Bank, First Harrison Bank, all three Washington County PNC Bank locations, and First Savings Bank.
Tickets will not be available at the door.
The Washington County Family YMCA is located at 1709 N. Shelby Street in Salem. www.wcfymca.org
