|FC tennis coach becomes winningest boys’ tennis coach in the state|
Excellence in sports is difficult to achieve and continued excellence is almost unheard of. That’s not the case for Floyd Central boys’ tennis head coach Rick Miller.
He has not only been coaching for more than four decades, but he has been winning and doing so at a high level.
At his team’s match against Madison last week in the opening round of the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament, the Highlanders beat Madison, 5-0.
The win was the 663rd for Miller who became the winningest boys high school tennis coach.
Miller, who also coaches the FC girls, passed retired Jennings County/North Central High School Coach Byron Buckley.
He is now just 29 wins away from becoming the winningest coach in the state for boys and girls.
During his career, Miller has six state finals appearances, 22 regional championships, 29 sectional championships, and 22 conference championships.
Miller is also a member of the 2002 Indiana High School Tennis Hall of Fame!
