Volunteers are being sought for United Way of Scott County’s 2013 Day of Caring. The service event will be held Saturday, October 12, from 8 a.m. until lunch is served at 1:00 p.m. Sign up, breakfast and lunch will all be held at the Grace Christian Academy, 375 Lovers Lane and will be provided for volunteers.
The Day of Caring has been an annual tradition in Scott County since 1998. Possible projects include landscaping, painting, installation of ramps, and more.
The goals of the day are to allow citizens to see how volunteering can make a positive impact on our community.
Volunteer teams and individuals will need to sign a waiver for participation. Contact the office if you are interested in helping the community on the Day of Caring.
A free t-shirt will be given to volunteers during the morning of the event.
Any organization or business who is interested in sponsoring the Day of Caring is asked to contact United Way.
