The Great Pumpkin Run is stopping by the Greater Louisville area this fall attracting runners and walkers to participate in this first year 5K run/walk and fall festival at Deere Farms, located in Lanesville, Indiana.

On September 21, 2013, Deere Farms will be transformed as The Great Pumpkin Run takes over and hosts a race that will give runners a true Fall experience. Runners will make their way through bright paths, open fields and finish through one of the largest corn mazes in the Midwest. The celebration doesn’t stop when participants cross the finish line! Runners and walkers will be given a pumpkin for participating, an awesome race tour shirt and a glass of crisp apple cider or Fall beer. Deere Farms will have Fall activities going on after the event such as the Hayride, pick your own pumpkin, animal farm tours and more. Don’t forget to try a slice of caramel pumpkin cheesecake or an apple cider slush. There is fun for all ages and Deere Farms encourages participants and their families to come enjoy the farm.

Is the 5K option too easy? Add our Tough Pumpkin option onto any registration and carry a pumpkin up to 10 lbs with you for the race. If you finish with the pumpkin in hand, you will receive a Tough Pumpkin Finisher’s Medal and will get to keep the beast you carried with you.

The Great Pumpkin Run is a 5K race series that will be travelling to seven cities this fall. Louisville is the second stop on its Midwest tour.
