|Pirates dominate Generals 68-0 in the Bone Yard|
The Charlestown High Pirate Football team got their winning ways in full gear Friday night, September 6 during the 46th meeting between Charlestown and Clarksville (0-3). The Pirates (1-2 and 1-1 Mid Southern Conference), who now have won seven straight against Coach Hawkins’ alma mater, had no problem running the ball against the undermanned Generals; while holding the visitors to a total of 59 yards of offense the entire game.
The Pirates finished the MSC showdown putting up 569 yards of total offense, scoring 36 points by halftime. Four Pirates: Darren Taylor, Antonio Gaddie, Matt Myers, and Ethan Richey all finished the game with two rushing touchdowns a piece. Cameron Hopson and Jarren Anderson each added another rushing touchdown. Senior quarterback Tristen Chester, finished the game completing five of 14 passes for 152 yards, Eli Daniel caught four of those tosses for 131 yards.
The Defense was led by Jake Harper, who finished with 12 tackles unofficially and Adam Hoff (the Tumbletown Defensive Player of the Game) added 7 tackles, 1 ½ sacks and two fumble recoveries.
The Pirates travel to North Harrison this Friday for another MSC contest with the Cougars (1-2 and 0-2 MSC).
