Growing a deeper relationship with God and gaining a better understanding of how the stories of the Bible relate to one another are two major benefits of a pilot series this fall hosted by Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church at its Grant Line campus, 4810 Grant Line Road in New Albany, Ind.
The public is invited to join in the Disciple Bible Study Fast Track Experience that has not yet been released to the public, according to Peter Curts, teaching pastor, who will conduct the class on Sunday evenings from Sept. 8 through Nov. 24. Each session will begin with worship at 5, followed by gathering and refreshments before the study portion at 5:45. In addition to receiving tools to be able to connect the stories of Scripture, participants will engage in table discussions. Childcare will be provided.
PRECEPT BIBLE STUDY
The nationally recognized, interdenominational Precept Bible Study will be offered this fall at Wesley Chapel’s Hwy. 150 campus at 2100 Hwy. 150 in Floyds Knobs, Ind. The study of I Thessalonians will focus on principles of exemplary Christian living, spiritual warfare as sparked by the presence of the Gospel in the world, and God’s ultimate rescue, known as the rapture.
Thursday morning classes are from 9 to 11:30 from Sept. 12 through Nov. 21. If they wish, participants may pick up books ($24.75) at the church between 10 and 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5. Certified instructors for this series are Rhonda Alstott, Ann Coates, Beth Hussung, Marcia Latimer, and Connie Newbanks, and they encourage those from all congregations to enroll.
WEDNESDAY EVENING ACTIVITIES
The Hwy. 150 campus also hosts the public and its church family (primarily from Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties and the Louisville area) for Simple Suppers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, for which a free-will offering will be taken. No reservations are needed.
An array of classes and discipleship groups will follow, as listed on the church’s website. Childcare for infants and toddlers under age 3 is available from 6:20 to 9 p.m.
The public is invited to all three Sunday morning services at the Hwy. 150 campus--contemporary at 8:30 and 11 and traditional at 9:45. Sunday School classes meet during all three hours, while Kids’ Rock, a worship service for children, takes place at 8:30 and 11.
