Former Scott County Councilman Ray  Douglas Stamper died on Monday, July 29, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky., after suffering heart problems.
Stamper served two terms as a County Councilman, helping county officials to more accurately figure budgets for county departments. He was familiar with such tasks, as, after he retired from the old American Can Company in Austin, he owned and operated Stamper Accounting and Tax Service.
His memberships included Crothersville Presbyterian Church.
Calling today (Wednesday) at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin is from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Danny McDonald will officiate.
Burial will be in Spurgeon Cemetery near Austin.
