Scott County not only has a new Miss Scott County that was crowned on Sunday evening, July 7, but also two of the cutest youngsters who won the 2013 Little Miss and Little Master of Scott County competition.

The contest preceded the Queen Pageant at Scottsburg High School’s McClain Hall, and it featured some nicely-dressed and nicely-behaved children, five boys and seven girls. 2012 Little Miss Maggie Leigh Bennett and Little Master Brock McNeely were also on hand for the event.
Little Miss Autumn, the four-year-old daughter of Leslie Eider and Michael Richey of Scottsburg, responded well to questions put to her by emcee Brittany Bannister during the competition. Little Master Orlando was very debonair in his appearance. He is five and the son of Elisa and Jimmy Neace of Austin. Of course, every child who competed was adorable. Judges selected Autumn LaNae Couch, six-year-old daughter of Amanda and Robert Couch of Austin, as Little Miss runner-up. Daniel Jones, 6, the son of Candace and James Jones Jr. of Scottsburg, was Little Master runner-up.    Also competing were Little Miss candidates Brynley Culley, daughter of Deborah and Scott Culley; Samantha Grimm, daughter of Jessica and Eric Grimm; Shayna Hall, daughter of Sara Blythe and Shane Hall; Sophie Lightle, foster daughter of Becky and Paul Thomas; and Divine Payne, daughter of Christine Payne. Little Master candidates also included Trevor Andrew Hall, son of Lindsay and Jarred Hall; Blayden Kimberlin, son of Elizabeth Rice and Danny Kimberlin; and Kash Spicer, son of Jennifer and Shane Spicer.
Little Miss Autumn likes to read and play at the playground with her daddy as well as dig in the dirt for fishing worms and going to the Scott County Family YMCA with her mom. Little Master Orlando is an outdoorsman. He likes to fish and hunt and he likes to play basketball. He collects Star Wars figures and enjoys singing at church and playing the drums. Runner-up Autumn Campbell likes to play outdoors with her two sisters and walk in the woods. She is very excited about attending first grade this fall at Johnson Elementary.
Daniel enjoyed playing ball in the Lexington Pee Wee League this summer. He too likes to play outdoors and especially ride his Power Wheels tractor.
Every child who entered this year’s competition received a new bike helmet from the Pilot Club of Scott County, whose members organize the annual Little Miss and Little Master of Scott County contest. Additionally, the new Little Miss and Little Master and their runners-up received trophies sponsored by Hardy’s Cafe of Scottsburg.  Their crowns came as a gift from the Pilot Club. Other prizes include color portraits from Mr. Foto and $25 gift certificates from The Scott County State Bank. The 2013 Little Miss and Little Master will also be riding in the 2014 “Come to the Fair” Parade.
