Blessings in a Backpack is a non-profit organization that helps provide backpacks full of food for students that receive free or discounted meals every weekend for the 38 week school year.
Borden Elementary will be starting this program in August 2013.  There are approximately 110 students in need at Borden.
Blessings in a Backpack will provide the backpack, but money must be raised. It takes $80 per student for 38 weeks of food.
Borden will be hosting an event on May 18 at Joe Huber’s Barnyard Bash. The event will include food, music, raffles and a silent auction.  The group is still accepting items to be auctioned off.
All profits will go directly to Blessings in a Backpack / Borden Elementary account to purchase the food for the students.
If you are unable to attend the fundraiser, but would like to help, Donations/Checks can be mailed to : (please make checks out to Blessings in a Backpack and put Borden Elementary in the memo line) Borden Elementary, 303 West Street, P.O. Box 203, Borden, IN 47106.
