Charlestown Pirate Football stand out Aaron Daniel was  admitted by Indiana University on Monday, April 8, and plans to accept a preferred walk-on opportunity to play IU Football this fall.

Daniel has made several school and program visits; as well as several conversations with IU Coach Mallory and his assistants, who despite having limited scholarship options, have been very supportive and interested in Daniel pursuing the IU program.
Daniel released the following statement recently: “I’d like to thank everyone who has supported and encouraged me though-out my high school career-- My family, coaches, teammates, teachers, Pirate fans and community. It is a great feeling and I can’t wait to see what the next four years at IU will bring.”
During his four year high school career, Daniel broke or set 18 new school football records, including becoming Charlestown’s all-time leading passer and rusher. He will be playing QB for the South All-Star team this July, and was named to the Giddy’s Prime Time Top 25 list in 2012.
Daniel passed for 2,075 yards and 36 touchdowns and rushed for 1,766 yards and 32 touchdowns. He went 32-8 as the starting QB in his career at Charlestown.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to play division 1 football. I don’t expect it to be easy, but I think I’m ready for the next level. Go Hoosiers!”, Daniel concluded. Learn more about Daniel at http://www.hudl.com/
