The Backyard Classics Car Club is a Charlestown non-profit organization that donates its proceeds to the local VFW Post 1427 and the Crusades for Children. The club was established 17 years ago to bring together classics car enthusiasts and promote the preservation of classic cars, trucks, motorcycles and muscle cars. Beginning the second Friday (6 to 9 p.m.) from April through October, the club has a cruse-in on the Charlestown square.

The cruise-in is not only for car owners, but also for the public to relive a by-gone era of vintage vehicles, as well as the oldies-but-goodies music.
Backyard Classics also holds an annual car show at the Clark County Fairgrounds on the Saturday of Charlestown’s Founders Day festivities to give people the opportunity to experience car enthusiast’s work in restoring older vehicles, or as in many cases making incredible hot rods along with other modified vehicles. The proceeds from this annual car show, which will be June 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., are donated to the Crusade for Children, and the Charlestown VFW Post 1427. There will be top 50 awards, best of category, and two best of show trophies.
