A man wanted for failing to appear as ordered in court is now behind bars, thanks to an anonymous tip.
Larry E. Huff, 38, Austin, was found by Indiana State Police and a probation officer at a residence at 1050 North Church Street in Austin on Friday, March 15. An arrest warrant had been issued for Huff after he failed to appear in court in Scottsburg, related a news release issued by the Indiana State Police post at Sellersburg.
Officers also located Jennifer M. Spellman, 28, at the residence. She was taken into custody after she was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Both Huff and Spellman were transported to the Scott County Security Center.
Spellman entered a preliminary plea of not guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine, a Class D felony. Her jury trial on the charge is scheduled June 11. She was appointed a public defender.
Information on Huff’s status was not available. His arrest warrant stemmed from 2011 criminal charges, it was learned.
Huff remains at the security center.
