East Washington Middle School wrestling team makes history PDF Print E-mail

Saturday was a historic day for the East Washington Middle School wrestling program. The Musketeers competed in the New Washington Invitational and won the first-place trophy.
The win could possibly be the first team trophy in wrestling the school has ever won.


The Musketeers had 22 wrestlers who dressed for the event.
The following are team results.
East Washington defeated Providence 72-32. Dawson Dupin and Ryan Arnold both won with pins.
The Musketeers beat New Washington 64-40. Camden Stewart, Silas Temple, Ryan Arnold, Hunter Anderson, and Robert Cochran won with pins.
East Washington defeated Scottsburg 75-27. Dupin, Arnold, Brant Stewart and Zack Terry won with pins.
In the closest match of the day, East Washington edged Southwestern by 16 points, 60-44. Temple was the only Musketeer to win by pin against the Rebels.
The Musketeers won 66-35 over Crawford County. Arnold and Hunter Fleenor won by pin falls.
East Washington had five individual champions in their respective weight classes. They were, 70 lbs Camden Stewart; 125 lbs Ryan Arnold; 132 lbs Brant Stewart; 195 lbs Cole Bezy and 220 lbs Hunter Fleenor.
The team’s next match will be Tursday at Highland Hills Middle School.
