Corydon edges FC girls in afternoon showdown PDF Print E-mail

Two of the more traditional girls’ basketball programs in the area squared off in a Saturday matinee at Floyd Central.


The game was close throughout, but the visiting Lady Panthers proved to be one-point better, 50-49.
Corydon started the game with a small lead and the Lady Highlanders took a small lead thanks to a solid third quarter.
During the third period FC turned a 23-21 deficit to a 39-37 lead. Five players scored in the quarter for the Lady Highlanders led by Tori Kingsley who scored six of her 15 points.
Brooke Hinton, who finished the game with 17 points, scored four in the third period.
In the end, Corydon was too much.
It the loss FCHS dropped to 9-8.
They were back on the court Tuesday at Jennings County and will host Providence Thursday night.
