Students are now being enrolled for the Perspectives class, which will take place on Sunday evenings from January 27 through May 5.
The class will be held at Old Capitol United Methodist Church, which is located at 141 West Heidelberg road in Corydon.
The class is scheduled each Sunday from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
The cost is $220 for key reading or certificate course or $525 for undergraduate students.
“Perspectives has been essential in mobilizing hundreds of lay people in our church to be World Christians and instilling passion for God’s supremacy,” said John Piper, who is senior pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
The class allows students to learn first hand from the global experiences of pastors, professors, Biblical scholars, mobilizers, theologians, missiologists and missionaries from the field.
A flyer for the course says the class allows “participants to experience God’s heart for all peoples and encounter the momentum of the World Christian Movement. Perspectives will open the eyes of your heart with fresh knowledge and understanding of God’s unchanging purposes and why they’re relevant to your life.”
Lana Wilkin, who is one of the class facilitators, said even those who are extremely busy can find value in taking the class.
She shared a story about a man who spent the better part of three decades being active in his church, teaching Sunday School and leading various ministries.
Wilkin said when the class ended, the man was brought to tears because had he taken the class sooner all of the things he was involved in would have been enhanced from the knowledge he received from the class.
Tony Evans, who is the senior pastor at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, agrees.
He said he sees the same thing happening in his church.
“We value our partnership with perspectives,” he said. “Their leadership and discipleship tools have helped our members to discover how they can effectively become part of the global Christian movement.”
The class is for believers from all walks of life.
