Charlestown Lady Pirate Justice Burdin named an IBCA/Subway Players of the Week in the first week of 2012-13 season, for their performances during the week of November 5-10.
Burdin, a 5' 11” sophomore wing, notched a double-double as Charlestown began its season with a 64-37 triumph over Southwestern (Hanover). Burdin tallied 21 points and 14 rebounds as the Pirates jumped to a big lead and captured the season-opening decision over the Rebels.
This is the fifth season for the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Player of the Week program and the first season it is presented by Subway Restaurants of Indiana, a primary sponsor of the IBCA. Subway, in its third season as an IBCA sponsor, encourages athletes to "play hard and eat fresh." Player of the Week winners are chosen each week from each of the IHSAA's three districts.
