Green Banner PublicationsA Scottsburg woman has been arraigned on 11 child molestation and child seduction felonies in Scott Circuit Court for alleged sexual activities with young, teenage boys.
Amber D. Hall, also known as Amber D. Kelley, 37, was returned to the Scott County Security Center after her initial court hearing before Judge Roger Duvall on Monday morning, October 29. She was arrested over the weekend by local law enforcement officers on a warrant issued October 26.
Hall is alleged to have had sex with 16- and 13-year-old boys in 2011. Reportedly, the incidents took place at her home and in a van. When the parent of the minor children learned about the alleged incidents in March, 2011, she contacted Scottsburg police.
The teenagers were reluctant at first to talk about the woman for fear they would be sent to juvenile detention, according to the probable cause affidavit. Finally, in July, the boys provided statements to a case manager with the Indiana Department of Child Services. Scottsburg Detective/Lt. Mike Nichols was then assigned to the case and continued the investigation begun by Scottsburg Patrolman L. Travis Rutherford.
The affidavit also quoted the boys as saying that, in some cases, the contact between Hall and the boys took place in the presence of a toddler, Hall's 18-month-old son.
Hall is now charged with two Class A felony counts of child molesting and nine counts of Class D felony child seduction.
Her jury trial is scheduled March 11, 2013. Her bond is set at $100,000 corporate surety/full cash.
